Veterinary Technician
Join the Neighbourhood Pet Clinic Team
What can you expect?
As a veterinary technician on our team, your daily appointment schedule will be rigorously upheld to keep you running on time, to avoid double-bookings, and to get you out the door at the end of your day.
Our four locations share each other’s caseload to manage emergencies, and our internal diagnostic imaging department provides exclusive internal referrals, allowing your patients access to quality medical care when they need it most.
If you love surgery, you’ll be pleased to find our surgical suites stocked with modern technology and a team of competent surgeons to tackle advanced dentistry and challenging soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries.
You’ll work in a bright, modern environment free from ringing phones; most calls are answered off-site by our internal communications team. A dedicated pharmacy technician handles prescriptions and a “DVM Concierge” assists with medical questions, so you can focus on the patient in front of you.
This position will require some evenings and Saturdays given a regular rotating schedule. Flexibility to go between all Neighbourhood Pet Clinic locations (Sunningdale, North London/Old North, Westmount, and Blue Cross Animal Hospital) will be highly valued, but not required.
What are we looking for?
As the ideal candidate, you understand that the experience of a veterinary visit goes beyond the medical care provided. You take pride in the services, industry, and business you represent and enjoy working with the public.
When working in a group, you are a natural communicator and a team player; you are eager to learn from others and to help others learn. You will add value to our team by being open to new ideas and always looking for ways to improve the services we provide.
You hold a Veterinary Technician Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution. Being a Registered Veterinary Technician with active status and in good standing with the RVT Registry is an asset but not required.
Any specialization or formal training from either inside or outside the industry will be highly regarded, including special skills such as a second language.
