June 8 Update
We are now returning to our regular clinic hours at both locations ((Monday-Friday 8-7, Saturday 9-4, and closed Sundays/Stat holidays). Thank you so much to all of our neighbours for your understanding while we operated in a limited capacity over the last several weeks! We are so glad to be able to get somewhat back to “normal”. Here’s what you need to know about how we’ll be operating for the time being:
After much discussion, for everyone’s safety, we will continue to keep our doors locked throughout the day and will provide curbside service for all appointments and product pick-ups.
Optional: If you have a mask, we would appreciate if you could please bring it with you, as an extra precaution as we come out to your vehicle to get your furry family member.
We are now able to start offering all regular services, including non-emergent surgeries (spays, neuters, dental cleanings), nail trims, anal gland expressions, heartworm tests, and all annual exams and vaccine visits that were previously postponed. We are so happy to now be able to address these important aspects of your pet’s health and will do so as soon as possible, but please expect a bit of a delay for routine care, as we are experiencing a large increase in requests and must continue to prioritize urgent care cases at this time.
We are now taking grooming appointments for dogs at both locations. Please note that, as of June 8th, there is a significant delay of approximately 6-8 weeks, so we encourage early booking for summer grooms. This wait time is expected to decrease as we work through the backlog of shaggy friends whose haircuts were postponed over the last few months (sorry, no humans!)
As always, we will continue to offer free product delivery on any of our foods, medication, toys, treats, etc. within the City of London. We encourage you to sign up for our Product Subscription Service, which allows you to auto-order any recurring product (even cat litter) according to your schedule, and we’ll deliver it to your door for free.
May 15 Update
The provincial government has included veterinary care in their Stage One reopening plan.
To help keep everyone as safe as possible and to prioritize urgent health matters, we are continuing to adhere to our current COVID-19 safety protocols while aiming to open up for more routine services on June 1st.
We will continue with our curbside procedure while we consider our options and make a plan to safely allow visitors in the future. For all medical appointments and product pick-up, we ask that you remain in your vehicle and call us at (519) 649 0080 upon arrival. We have added another remote payment option, a payment portal on our website, for increased convenience.
Over the next two weeks, we will continue to postpone any vaccinations that, while important, may be safely delayed. Please contact us for more information regarding your furry family member. We are hoping to be able to return to doing routine spays/neuters, vaccinations, nail trims, anal gland expressions, etc. in June.
Please contact us if you would like to be added to our grooming rescheduling list. Once we work out the details of scheduling and availability with our groomers, we will work our way through this list.

Please ask us about this option to help support social distancing.
Thank you to our wonderful “neighbours” for your kindness during this time. Your words of encouragement mean more than you know and we look forward to being able to serve you in our full capacity! In the meantime, we appreciate your patience as we try to balance our commitments to our furry friends, our neighbours, our team, and our global community.
Hope is in sight, but the fight isn’t over yet. Stay safe and please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. We’re all in this together!
April 6 Update
Given the recent announcement by the provincial government restricting the activity of veterinary practices to providing emergency and necessary care, we are implementing some changes to how we book appointments.
Any appointments that are already scheduled can be left in place. This policy will be effective for new appointments only.
We will continue to schedule the following procedures:
- All sick and injured pets and those in distress.
- All puppy and kitten vaccination appointments. The goal is to ensure that these young animals are adequately immunized during their most vulnerable period of life.
- All one year anniversary vaccinations for one-year-old-dogs and cats. These are important vaccinations to ensure ongoing adult immunity in this susceptible population.
- All adult dogs and cats that are due for Rabies vaccination.
- All dentistry procedures that are designed to alleviate oral pain.
- Feline and Canine spays if being performed prior to the animal’s first estrous in order to reduce the risk of developing mammary cancer later in life.
- Feline neuters if the male cat has begun to spray urine in the house
If animals are already inside the building for an urgent issue and are due for other less-essential services, we can provide those services provided the animal is in an appropriate state of health.
We will continue to dispense flea, tick and heartworm medications in accordance with the prescribing directions of a veterinarian. These will be assessed on a case by case basis based on the individual animal history.
For non-urgent health requests that can be done remotely, we will be starting to offer telemedicine on a trial basis at the veterinarian’s discretion. More information to follow.
Veterinarians will continue to prescribe medications based on individual circumstances that include a valid VCPR and the history taking and fact finding performed by the veterinarian.
March 24 Update
Due to the circumstances, our groomers have chosen to take a step back. They will finish their grooms for the week, but we are no longer accepting appointment requests.
Additionally, the Ontario government recently announced the closure of all non-essential businesses. Fortunately, we have just learned that we are not affected by this update. Currently, we are able to continue to serve our neighbours, but for everyone’s safety, we will keep practicing curbside service under our new reduced hours.
March 23 Update
Our updated hours are as follows:
Mon – Fri: 9 AM – 5 PM
Sat: 9 AM – 4 PM
North London location:
Tues – Fri: 10 AM – 6 PM
Sat: 10 AM – 1 PM for product pick up only (no appointments)
March 17 Update
It has always been our mission to make all aspects of your pet’s care as comfortable and stress-free as possible, while providing the quality of medical care you would expect for any member of your family. With the ongoing apprehension over Coronavirus (COVID-19), we take this commitment even more seriously.
These furry family members rely on us as their grocery store, pharmacy, and medical provider. Therefore, we will continue to serve our “neighbours” for as long as we can, while supporting self-isolation and practicing responsible social distancing as much as possible.
Important: Please note the following changes that we have implemented to make continued care possible during this time:
As of 1:00 PM on Tuesday, March 17, we have limited some non-essential procedures. Effective immediately, we are no longer offering:
Routine nail trims
Wellness visits of HEALTHY pets where NO vaccines are due.
You may notice that our doors will remain locked, but we will remain OPEN to serve your needs.
We will continue appointments that involve health concerns and those that involve vaccines due. We will continue anal gland appointments where your furry family member is showing signs of being uncomfortable. We will continue to offer surgical and dental procedures.
FOR FOOD & MEDICATION:
1. Please call in your order
2. We can accept credit card over the phone, or e-transfer (sorry, no cash at this time)
3. You may choose to have it delivered or pick it up
4. If you pick it up, please call (519) 649 0080 when you arrive and we will bring your item to the clinic door.
GROOMING & MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS:
1. Please call (519) 649 0080 upon arrival and let the team know you have arrived
Note: If nobody is able to answer please DO NOT leave a message. Simply call back in a minute or two. If there is still no answer, please walk to the door and check to see if someone is inside. We might simply be occupied for a moment.
2. The team will confirm your cell number and email.
3. One of our team will come out to welcome your furry family member and bring them into the clinic. Cats must be in a carrier and dogs must be on a leash. For the duration of their visit, we will swap out your leash from home with a sterilized leash from the clinic or wipe down your cat’s carrier to prevent the transmission of any germs.
4. If you are staying for the appointment, we will ask that you wait in your vehicle. We will contact you by cell phone to obtain an initial history and likely a second time to offer recommendations as required.
Note: Surgery discharges will be arranged at a mutually convenient time and conducted in a similar way in order to maximize social distance.
5. After the appointment is completed, a team member will contact you by phone to take payment of either VISA or MasterCard or e-transfer. We are not accepting cash at this time.
6. If Debit is required, we will bring a wireless terminal and meet you at the door to complete the transaction. Our team will hold the debit machine. You can then insert your card and press the necessary buttons. To minimize risk, we ask that you not touch the machine otherwise.
As healthcare professionals, we take disease transmission very seriously. We already have thorough cleaning protocols in place, as well as a three-step plan to minimize exposure between our team members and across the North London and Westmount locations.
We also have a responsibility to our team members. We have a plan in place to ensure they are taken care of, should they need to take time off to tend to their health, and for the rest of the team to function as smoothly and safely as possible in their absence.
We understand that this is a scary and uncertain time for families as COVID-19 permeates the news and changes are so rapidly implemented. Should you have any uncertainty, please reach out to our team.
Although this is an unprecedented circumstance, it is certainly not the first time our clinic has weathered a heavy storm. This amazing community has certainly been there for our team during difficult times in the past, and we are strongly committed to doing the same for your family now.
After all, that’s what neighbours are for.

March 16 Update
As apprehension grows regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19), our furry family members still rely on us as their grocery store, pharmacy, and medical provider.
Therefore, we will continue to serve our “neighbours” for as long as we can, while being responsible global citizens and doing our part to reduce the transmission of COVID-19.
As medical professionals, we take disease transmission very seriously. We already have thorough cleaning protocols in place, but in light of recent events, we have increased these efforts. For the safety of our team and visitors, we have also implemented a three-step plan to minimize exposure between individuals and across the North London and Westmount locations.
This situation is rapidly evolving, but as of right now, we are continuing to take regular appointments. Please let us know if you would prefer to:
- Reschedule your non-emergent visit
- Wait in the car while we see your furry family member
- Have your food or medication delivered
- Pay by credit card over the phone
- Or any other way we may accommodate you
We encourage these changes and are happy to help in whatever way we can.
We understand that this is a scary and uncertain time for families as COVID-19 permeates the news and changes are so rapidly implemented. We will continue to provide updates as this situation progresses.⠀⠀⠀
