Radiology

Radiography (X-Rays)

Sometimes, what’s going on underneath the surface isn’t obvious — but it’s urgent. The more complex a case is, the more critical it is to obtain accurate images in order to form a diagnosis. Our diagnostic imaging team has undergone additional training specifically in X-ray acquisition and is experienced in compassionately obtaining diagnostic-quality images on sick patients of all shapes, sizes, and temperaments. With access to this service, you get more precise images providing more complete insight for your veterinarian’s interpretation. Ensuring your pet gets the most accurate X-Rays possible means less time spent chasing diagnostics, and faster answers you can trust.

Comprehensive, Diagnostic Ultrasonography

This gentle, non-invasive tool lets us watch your pet’s organs in motion and assess conditions that an X-ray alone can’t fully explain, such as fluid buildup, inflammation, or internal masses. Just like in human medicine, having both imaging options available means your doctor can choose the best modality (or both) to understand your pet’s unique condition and can guide treatment accordingly.

Many skilled veterinarians and technicians can use ultrasound to help clarify the clinical picture, but only an experienced sonographer can deliver truly diagnostic results of entire organs and body systems. With our diagnostic imaging team, we’re proud to provide access to advanced ultrasonography for dogs and cats right here in London, providing high-quality diagnostic imaging otherwise typically only available through referral.

For board-certified radiology reports, studies are sent to Cygnus Veterinary Imaging Group. For our neighbours, this means shorter wait times when a diagnostic ultrasound is needed and more timely treatment for your pet… All while keeping their care with the team you know and trust.

Choosing Neighbourhood Pet Clinic ensures that you don’t lose precious time to referrals, and that every diagnostic decision is made with a complete picture of your pet’s health.

Echocardiography

Our clinic is proud to offer on-site echocardiography (cardiac ultrasound) performed by a board-certified veterinary cardiologist. Every few weeks, we host this specialist at our facility to provide expert assessment of your pet’s heart health without the need to travel to a referral center. Having access to a cardiologist right here at our clinic means your pet benefits from specialized care in a familiar setting, with your primary veterinarian closely involved every step of the way. This collaboration ensures accurate diagnoses, faster treatment decisions, and peace of mind knowing your pet’s care team is working together to keep their heart as healthy as possible.

Informative Care, Here When You Need It

We believe that all pet parents deserve to make an informed decision about their pet’s care. As such, we have a responsibility to provide access to the best possible imaging services. This allows the families we serve to have all the information they need to determine the best next steps for their little one.

The diagnostic imaging team acts as an extension of the veterinarian managing your furry family member’s case, sharing medical records and working in direct collaboration with the veterinary team every step of the way. Together, it is our goal to get you the answers you need to make educated and timely decisions about your pet’s healthcare.
