Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)

Neighbourhood Pet Clinic is seeking a compassionate and adaptable veterinarian to join our growing team. This role is designed for a DVM who values medicine done thoughtfully, with time to focus on each patient, a collaborative team beside them, and the flexibility to create a schedule that truly fits their life.

Whether you’re looking for a consistent part-time home base, a balanced caseload to complement family life, or simply a way to practice elevated medicine without burnout, we’ll work with you to make it happen.

What you’ll find at NPC:

  • Medicine that feels good to practice: With our dedicated diagnostic imaging department, full dentistry suite, and well-equipped surgical capabilities, you’ll enjoy the kind of comprehensive general practice where you can manage more of your patients’ care in-house. Our independent structure gives you the freedom to treat your patients your way, without corporate protocols or production targets.
  • Support that keeps you focused: No double-bookings. Dedicated time for callbacks. A lunchbreak that’s honoured every day. Stay focused on your patients and your team — not on multitasking.
  • A collaborative team with work-life harmony: We work together to prioritize a schedule with no double-bookings, consistent flow, and a focus on the whole team finishing their day on time.
  • Flexibility to fit your life: Want to focus on surgery or preventive care? Prefer to work mornings, or a few days a week? Need time to pick up your kids from daycare? We’ll tailor a position around your priorities. You choose how you want your veterinary career to look at this stage of your life, and we’ll ensure you’re supported.

What are we looking for?

  • A fully licensed DVM (CVO-registered and in good standing)
  • Strong diagnostic and clinical skills with a commitment to continuous learning
  • Excellent communicator who values teamwork and client trust
  • Confidence in general medicine, dentistry, and/or surgery (or a desire to grow in these areas)
  • A positive, collaborative attitude

Why join us:

  • Work for an independently-owned group of clinics, free from corporate oversight
  • Flexible uniform policy: Your choice of black scrub pants + 3 embroidered shirt options
  • Work-life balance built in: predictable schedule, no double-bookings, and flexible hours
  • Professional development support, including paid CE and mentorship opportunities
  • Health spending account and access to mental health resources
  • For full-time DVMs: 3 Weeks of vacation available immediately without accrual, paid day off for your birthday, 2 Paid CE days, and 2 Paid Volunteer days to give back to your community
